Green Watt Power, a division of Powerland Technology, Inc. and winner of a Top 10 Power Electronics Supplier award announces a new 1000 Watt charger that supports 72V nominal batteries with a voltage output range of 50~84V. The EVC1000 Series of ruggedized AC chargers charges Lithium Ion batteries in Electric Vehicle (EV) applications like material handling, motorcycles, scooters, motorcycles, and e-carts. The charger can output up to 12 Amps at 230Vac inputs and 8.4 Amps at 115Vac inputs.
With a built-in handle and a weight of only 3.0kg and dimensions of 240 x 187 x 70mm (9.45 x 7.36 x 2.76”), the high-density design allows easy integration into a variety of form factors. The package is designed for high power density and thermal efficiency and is fully potted to help in high-stress environments with an IP66 rating.
The 1000W charger with an universal input range of 90 to 264VAC is able to handle a wide range of standard of worldwide wall power input voltages and frequencies. The input frequency range is 47 to 63Hz. With efficiencies up to 93%, the typical Power Factor Correction (PFC) is 0.97. The 1kW charger also has charge status indicator for its user interface.
The charger has CAN communications for unit status and control with many protection features including OVP, OCP, SCP, OTP, and UVLO. The turn-on Delay at full load is 5s max and has an auto-off feature as well if there is no load. The charger will operate at up to +60ºC case temperature with a storage range of -15 to +85⁰C. The EVC is designed to meet UL/CSA, TUV and EN60335.
